Around 13:30 started to feel that
burning in chest - post quitting
smoking style ‘pleurisy’. Got quite bad,
hit the ibuprofen and NAC.
sp02 seemed down, sometimes
reading 94!, no cough or diffi culty
breathing. Impossible to say if it was
related to diving as I’ve had it many
times before without diving, but not for
a long time.

Tried a new nutrition strategy, ate a big
meal, 750+ calories 2 hrs before diving.
Dumb idea. Shouldn’t have changed
anything while it was going well. So
super sluggish feeling all the way out to
the dive site and could barely keep my
eyes open. Retrace on that idea.
Dive was OK, set 72m but watch is now
on wrist and I practiced taking bottom
tag from bottom weights…
Narcosis was quite strong. In fact, on
the way up I had a strange ‘synesthesia’
type experience where I could taste/
smell something fragrant, pleasant,
maybe like a sweet food.
Only other dive was a buoyancy check.
Will lose about 100g from the neck
weight as I’m dropping weight fast.
