Way Stations of Discipleship
How would you assess your trajectory according to these way stations?
Not Started, Defi nitely Progressing, Life Habit
Remember trajectories are directions, not completions
I have a regular habit of reading scripture
I care about understanding God’s word accurately
I understand how to read scripture and feel like I often can see the
plain meaning.
I seek answers in the word and tend to respect its wisdom above
other sources of wisdom.
I am eager to learn from teachers about the truths of scripture and
consistently compare what I’m taught with scripture in order to
verify it’s validity.
I contemplate, discuss and generally seek to apply or better
understand truths opened up in Focus Group.
I learn things from scripture and fi nd ways to use my gift (teaching
or serving) to help pother people understand these truths as well.
I often explore scripture in community. During Focus group I do
sometimes share truths and explore questions from scripture in
conversation and dialogue with others.
I see the value of scripture for correction, and training in
righteousness, both mine and others.

I am developing a Godly perspective on things.
?
Does their perspective on God lead to joyful service, or to guilt and
frustration?
Are they moving from idolatry to
d
evotion, from deception to truth?
Is fellowship a developing habit? Do they attend
group
even when
they don’t feel like it?
Do they have friendships within the
church
and outside the
church
?
Are they open and vulnerable in discussion?
Are they kind
, respectful and
affi rming with others?
Do they serve others in the group with a cheerful and willing heart?
Is there a clarity between what's essential for salvation and what's a
lesser Scriptural or even cultural principle?
Do they have a confi dence and ability to read scripture for it's most
plain meaning.
Do they seek answers in the word? Do they respect the wisdom of
scripture above other sources?
Are they being trained by Grace?

Do they reflect
the qualities of Galatians 5:22-23 and 2 Peter 1:5-6
in increasing measure?
Do they continually remember they've been cleansed from their past
sins?
Do they know how to share their faith?
Do they understand how to share form an overflowing cup instead of
a guilt and need?
Are they aware of the need to change and overcome recurring sin?
Are they aware of the importance of faith and Grace in these
changes?
Are they aware that God has gifted them for unique ministry with
unique gifting and experiences?
Are they
using that gifting in the church (celebration or small
group)?
Are they using that gifting in the world?
Do they understand what God expects from them in this season of
their life: in work, family, socio-economic standing, or educational
arena?
