Quick Write
•
Each day students should spend about 10 minutes preparing their responses to a prompt.
•
Students are to respond in writing with at least one paragraph.
•
There will be a discussion of the daily prompt.
•
Students may work ahead if they wish.
•
The Quick Write written response and the oral participation is graded in the ‘Passed’ or ‘Not
Passed’ style.
•
Passed
=
Provided good content for 10 minutes of work and meaningful oral
contributions.
•
Not Passed
=
Content was not satisfactory for 10 minutes of work and/or oral
contributions were not meaningful.
•
The Quick Write grade will appear in the Takes Responsibility and Perseveres in Learning
section of the
Report Card
.
Information
•
Choose a geographic feature (or place) such as, but not limited to; a town, city, county,
state, country, planet, river, mountain, prairie, valley, ocean, lake, desert, swamp, marsh,
object in space, etc.
•
Provide a short summary of the important and/or interesting information regarding that
place.
Geography
Ten To One
•
Students are to use the 10 parts of a story by clicking on the Ten To 1 Story button found
on on
Student Resource
page of
InstructorDave.org
to write a short story.
•
Students can add more parts to the story and even change the parts, but all ten original
parts must appear in the story at least once.
•
Students are to write a story that reads like a story but at the end, one can’t explain what
the story was about.
No Story
•
Students are to use the word found on the Word Variation button of on the
Student
Resource
page of
InstructorDave.org
to write a paragraphs using the word and variations of
the word as many times as possible to the point where the reader will get tired of reading
that word.

•
Students are to write a short paragraph about what is, or has been, on their mind.
