Damp or moist.
Tradition
A custom, a way of life, or an idea that has been handed
down from the past.
Rain Shadow
The drier side of a mountain.
Hieroglyph
A picture or symbol that stands for sounds, words, or
ideas.
Drought
A long time with little of no rain.
Class
A group of people who are alike in some way.
Natural Resource
Something found in nature, such as water, soil, or
minerals, that people can use to meet their needs.
Pueblo
A Spanish word for village.
Urban
Like, in, or of a city.
Society
People living together in a community.
Metropolitan Area
A large city together with nearby cities and suburbs.

A place where people establish a community.
Suburb
A town or small city near a large city.
